First in a series I've been working on in my studio class. It was also my first attempt at using rabbit skin glue. It smells as lovely as you'd expect. Oddly enough, it sort of... grows on you.

This isn't quite done. There's still a few things I need to add/remove/change, especially after some ideas people had during the critique. Someone said that it reminded them of Samurai Jack, though, and that made me incredibly happy :XD:

I'm working on a larger one of these now (4 x 4 feet.) It's fun stuff.

ahh, this makes me excited to use oils.

I love the different degrees of detail within the pack of wolves. The earthy tones are neat too.

i can see where they got the samurai jack bit! their faces kinda remind me of one o' them old school sumi-e paintings.

i love it when u do unexpected stuff like this. it reeks of a sort of semi-medieval, semi-pagan, woodsy primitive Awesomeness. idk if that makes sense

Rabbit Skin Glue. now whyyyy do i love the sound of that... Icky stuff made of the hide of tender furry creatures (that are not puppies, coz i love puppies). hell yeahs.

This is brilliant! The colors all blend and compliment each other beautifully! I love how it looks medieval and modern at the same time. Really awesome piece!!!

Is rabbit skin glue a medium like linseed oil? Or is actually glue that you are using to paste things on to the canvas with?
