Description

"How did you…” started a bewildered Julian, but quickly snapped to “Open it! Quickly!” This was not the time for inquiries; the villainous presence was growing ever stronger. Blood was chilling, and spines lurching. The door’s throbbing grew heavier, and as Franz struggled with the linchpin lock, tension curdled to air.

Then, they arrived.

The first blast was the most horrifying. The weighty door suddenly spit forth six inch splinters, and a splitting gorge sizzled down the middle. The door violently bent and pounded, and a maddening howl tore through their ears. Through the wooden gash, they saw flashes of glistening fang, tearing nail and seeking eye. Wretched, hellish growls, snarls and barks stabbed in, as did a new shower of splinters, and with one final thump and boom, the massive door snapped in two.

Franz never once turned from his crucial work, though every fibre of his beingw anted to see the horrors behind him. Willy and Julian both stared terror in its eyes, and couldn’t even rally a scream. Bones liquefied and minds scattered at what stood before them.

They had the bodies of men; very, very tall men, maybe seven feet tall when standing straight, though their bodies curled in beastly prowl and springy bounce. Their heads, however, were those of snapping, bestial wolves, with garguatuan, frothing maws lined by golden teeth, and eyes of utter aberration. They wore tailored suits and ties that crinkled and folded with their predatorial gestures, and atop their slobbering heads sat ironically classy bowler hats. The pack leader, who was a particularly scruffy-pelted fellow, spiked his whiskers and twitched his nose, then ululated viciously. Then, they leapt towards Willy, Julian and Franz, with only the hungriest of intentions.

Knock knock knock, someone's at the door :evillaugh:

For my final art project, I am writing and illustrating a novella. These happy guys, known as the Gentlmen, are my favourite to draw. Aren't they adorable? ;)

These characters are modelled and inspired after my 'What time is it Mr. Wolf?' fellow, -> [link] The rabbit also inspired a character in the book

I'm not quite sure if this is classified as traditional or digital artwork; it's a scanned watercolour/ink picture with heavy digital editing. Oh well :)

(It's all rather Shining-esque, isn't it? The wolf in question is even named Jonathan )

This was it. This was the end.
