You know those paintings where you have an idea, but haven't practiced the skills enough yet to make it happen? Bahaha, this was one of those. I was still practicing getting my lines flat and smooth, figuring out what to do with the background, and how to work on multiple panels. I don't see this as a successful painting, but rather as one of those 'stepping stone' ones

I got a lot of helpful critique on it in my class, and I think the ones that came after turned out much nicer. Finding a better solvent helped a LOT... this one is way too goopy. It was fun to make, though.
It was based on a strange dream where I was a falcon who caught a rabbit, ate it (mmm...?), and was then dragged underground by flesh-eating pine martens. You know, happy subconscious story-time.
Oil on beech panel
24x 26 inches each
I want that painted on a wall in my house.
This is incredible in that sort of strange, honest, stream-of-consciousness thing. a stream that somehow manages to be organised, that is. & have some sort of composition. i've done loads of stream-of-con artworks before; & guess what, i found out my subconscious does not know what a layout is.
also, cool colour theme.
i'm not lying when i say i'd lOve smthg like that hanging in my living room in a prominent, unavoidable place. can u think of anything more fun than having some dreaded boring inlaws over, then disturbing the shit out of em?
I really like it ^^
